Renowned for showcasing an assemblage of the area’s best children’s performers, Aurora Theatre is the Gwinnett County go-to for families to experience the performing arts. Their amazing facility in downtown Lawrenceville serves as the stage for puppeteers, magicians, storytellers, jugglers and musicians. With shows that last an average of forty-five minutes, these performances are perfect for the pint-sized theatre going set.

Mr. Bugaboo’s Bugazoo (Saturday, August 16th)
This show is full of stories, poems, and songs exploring bugs in children’s literature, including “The Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly,” a participatory hand puppet telling of “The Ant and the Grasshopper,” and the goings-on in Eric Carle’s Garden when the Lonely Firefly decides to have a party. With plenty of audience involvement, this show is perfect for emerging readers and established bug-lovers—often one and the same!
The Giant, the Beanstalk & Jack (Saturday, August 23rd)
Based on the timeless tale of a lazy boy named Jack who outwits the Giant, gets the gold and saves the farm… this innovative one-man, mini-musical combines original songs with rod puppets, hand puppets, and shadow puppets all in one show!
A Musical Tour Through Latin America (Saturday, August 30th)
Grab your sombrero and hit the road as Rene and Lillian lead a whirlwind adventure through Latin America. Their musical itinerary includes stops in Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Panama, and Puerto Rico, as students sample each country’s unique sounds and rhythms. It’s a fiesta grande where the irresistible son Cubano (Cuban sound) will have everyone dancing salsa, merengue and macarena. ¡Ay, caramba!
The curtain goes up on ALL shows at 10:00am and 11:30am.
