Treat your family to a Halloween of “historic” proportions with Trick-or-Treating at George Washington's Mount Vernon.

Join a costumed cast of historical interpreters for a special opportunity to trick-or-treat on the grounds surrounding the ultimate mansion (haunted? - or not.) Take part in a special scavenger hunt if you’re the adventurous type. Parade around the hallowed grounds in your All Hallow’s Eve finery for prizes and frivolity. Will you be awarded this year’s best “George” costume, or maybe “Martha”? You’ll even get to create your own Halloween craft in the “ghoulish” greenhouse.

Special trade demonstrations, like 18th-century wool carding, spinning and fish net making, will have you shivering in amazement. Top it all off with Halloween-themed stories in the straw bale amphitheater, colonial games, dancing demonstrations, and a wagon ride.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and close at 6 p.m. - though the happy memories may “haunt” you forever.

Note: The Mansion and Donald W. Reynolds Museum will not be open for this event.
