There is no place quite as inspiring to the young mind as the stage. Whether it's unlocking the inner artist in a Scene Study Workshop or fanning the flames of imagination in a Creative Play Production, your child's sense of wonder will blossom at Pumpkin Theatre.
Choose from the following 9-week fall sessions. All classes meet on Saturdays.

Theatre Playground 1 (Ages 5-6)
Does your child love stories and playing make believe? In this class your child will learn a variety of dramatic skills focusing especially on what qualities go into understanding/creating a character (physicality, expression, vocalization), as well as understanding/building a story. The group will explore different stories and find unique ways of looking at them through a variety of theatre games and exercises.
Theatre Playground 2 (Ages 7-8)
Pantomine, improvisation, progressive story-telling, articulation, dramatic role play, tableau and audition techniques are added to the basic creative drama skills for a fun, explorative semester.
Creative Play Production (Ages 10-13)
Students will study what a play is; what makes a play; what the parts of a play are; the purpose of characters and dialogue, of setting and costumes. The students will create their own production designs and write their own short play which will be read at the final class by professional actors from Pumpkin Theatre’s Company.
Comedy Playground 1 & 2 (Ages 9-11 and 12-14)
Students will learn the basics of acting for comedy as well as plenty of fun games, jokes, and exercises. Spit takes, prat falls, improvisation and sketch comedy are just the beginning of this class, perfect for your up and coming young comedian. This course will also strengthen your young actor’s abilities on stage as well as thinking outside of the box and collaborating with peers. Smiles and laughs are a guarantee.
$225 for the Following 1.5-Hour Class ($315 Value - $90 Off):
Scene Study (Ages 9-12)
Broaden your actor tool kit with creative character and scene development, bold physical and vocal acting choices and character exploration. The students will also work on monologue techniques, which will help to boost confidence and audition skills. The class will culminate in a presentation of scenes and monologues for family and friends.
