Ah, the holidays... the hustle and bustle, the parties, shopping, wrapping, scheduling and cleaning, oh my! Whether you deck the halls or light the menorah the holidays are so much more than just eight crazy nights. And we do this all on TOP of the already busy lives we lead. It’s enough to have you dreaming of a long winter’s nap!

It has been a very special Mother's Day week for me as an entrepreneur, member of our community, and, most importantly, as a mother: from our feature in the Washington Post last Monday as a local momprenuer, to my son's first Mother's Day Tea school event, to the Celebrate Mama event in downtown Bethesda, and, of course, to today - Mother's Day - where I spent time with my kids and family.

On a whim, we decided to put our names in for the White House Easter Egg Roll. We were shocked to get tickets for one kid plus two adults. We would finally experience one of the truly cool events in Washington DC for families.  A trip to the White House for a day of fun….in this case in the sun.  We had NO idea what to expect, except that it would be HOT.

What do you get when you combine a play gym, moonbounce, 70's party music, mini cupcakes, birthday photographer + 3 helpers (ie so NO work for Mom & Dad) = Happy Family!
 
Today was our daughter's 2nd birthday party! Considering all I do is research and work with the best local kid businesses around, I was ao excited to finally plan my own bash. I have to say, of the parties we have thrown for our kids, this was our FAVORITE and best party. Not only was it a huge HIT with parents and kids alike, but it was such an EASY party.
 
From invitations, location, cake, to our birthday party photographer…everything was PERFECTO and we can't wait to share the details...

Once upon a time.... you had time. Time to take in a movie that was not the latest 3D offering featuring one princess or another. Time for conversations that were deep, meaningful and not interrupted by repetitive recitations of; “Please stop putting that in your nose.” Time for wine with dinner instead of whine. Once it was just the two of you and even though baby makes three (or in some cases far more) the two of you are still the heart of it all. It’s time to get back to “You” time. Time to save THE date!
