So when his brother is himself gunned down, Will is determined to follow the code and gets in the elevator on the top floor of his apartment building, armed and ready to hit the streets in search of vengeance.   What happens on the way down is an emotional hip-hop journey through the cycles of violence that have plagued Will’s family and too many others. Open to all ages, the exhibition is a vibrant reflection upon the past, present, and future of the Black experience through the eyes of the artists.   Aṣẹ (pronounced “AH-shay”), the title of the exhibition is derived from a powerful mantra, affirmation, and philosophical belief held by the Yoruba people of West Africa, meaning “so will it be.” Drawn on to invoke the power to produce positive change, its spirit reverberates throughout the exhibit. Fraser and Rucker's creative contribution, brought to life by ARTECHOUSE Studio, honors the legacy,struggles, and complexities of the Black experience with creativity, courage, and imagination.   The centerpiece of the exhibition, Vision of the Black Experience, takes visitors on a journey through universal themes of resilience, cultural celebration, and the possibility of the future. Utilizing the largest seamless megapixel count projections of any cultural institution together with Hyperreal Sound technology, the installation unfolds in a four-part journey featuring Fraser’s distinctive designs and Rucker’s poignant poetry, reflecting on the current zeitgeist, the mystical realms of African culture that have profoundly influenced the global popular culture, and a vision of a hopeful future. The piece culminates into a new final chapter showcasing Fraser’s recent experiments with AI tools, demonstrating the artist’s evolution and reflection upon the potential of digital innovation to expand the boundaries of artistic expression.

It is river tubing time - and Watermelon Park River Adventures is waiting for you!  It's a quick drive - just 20 minutes west of Leesburg on the Shenandoah River. What can you expect? The 3/4 mile leisurely float down the Shenandoah River will take about 3 hours.  The slow-running river is never more than three feet deep - and the current is nice and easy. Prince Caspian continues the story of the four Pevensie children, who discovered the land of Narnia after walking through a magical wardrobe in the first book of the series, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and now return to the land of Narnia to help the rightful king and heir, Prince Caspian, take the throne!   The play has never been performed onstage to this magnitude. Mary’s Land Camp, an ACA-accredited camp located in Howard County, invites you to join the camp family this 4th of July week for a farm camp session!    At Mary's Land Camp, the goal is to educate the youth about farming and other life skills. Campers are immersed into the outdoors, learning how to care for farm animals, plants and greenhouses, different types of water conservation, getting hands-on experience in nature exploration, and more.    Campers are required to be ages 4-12 years old. There is a 1:8 counselor to camper ratio. The camp day starts at 9:00 am and ends at 3:00pm with before and after care offered for an additional cost.   Mary’s Land Camp counselors are top quality young adults who care about the well being of each camper. They are required to be 18 years or older, complete full CPS background checks, and participate in our rigorous training and farm-specific first aid programs. Cavallo Riding Center (CRC), part of Cavallo Farm, is bringing back their Horse Lovers Camp. Designed for campers who have never ridden a horse or been exposed to one and want to learn about what it is like to be around horses and ponies. Campers will also learn what it is like to ride a pony/horse via a daily supervised lesson or trail ride. During the trail ride or lesson, the horse will be led by the instructor to ensure the safety of the camper. So advanced in his years, by sixteen Copperfield was already teaching a course in magic at New York University.   During his years at college, Copperfield was cast as the lead in the Chicago Musical, “The Magic Man.” Copperfield acted, sang and created all the magic in the show, which eventually became the longest running musical in Chicago history. Due to Copperfield's impressive illusions in the play, he was chosen to host and star in “The Magic of ABC.” During his time on the show, Copperfield created and performed impressive, mind-boggling illusions before a live audience. Since then Copperfield has gone on to baffle audiences all over the world performing over 550 shows per year to sold out audiences.   Some of Copperfield's most famous tricks and illusions include making a duck magically appear in a bucket held by an audience member, having a deadly scorpion choose the card picked out by another audience volunteer, or transporting himself and a fan to a Hawaii beach. The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is a non-profit, educational institution featuring the legendary aircraft carrier Intrepid, the space shuttle Enterprise, the world’s fastest jets and a guided missile submarine.
