Class Description: This special class is specifically designed for young children to cultivate their interest to become game designers, multimedia artist, engineers, programmers and more! Give your child the opportunity to see how professional games are made. Learn cutting-edge computer skills through the fun art of 3D Game Design using award winning Platinum Arts Sandbox. In this exciting class, children will use basic 3D modeling skills to create their very own video game. They will learn to customize game attributes and build their own virtual world from scratch. Students will acquire computer skills, mathematics, creativity and basic problem solving skills.

Class Description:Using a custom mod called “Computercraft”, students will learn how to program robots called “Turtles” inside the world of Minecraft. Kids will utilize problem-solving skills by learning how to program their robots to complete various tasks and objectives such as programming their turtles to automatically build, mine, and craft items and structures. They will be introduced to programming if-then-else statements, for-while loops, and implement their own functions using Lua, a simple scripting language. Note: Basic reading skills required. Experience playing Minecraft preferred, but not required. Please email us for details.

Class Description: Aspiring game designers will love this class as they have the chance to learn how to utilize the industry-standard game design software Unreal® Editor, used for such games as Batman: Arkham Asylum® and Mass Effect 3®. Students will learn how to create exterior environments, and apply different procedures of modeling and texturing. Students create their own outdoor terrain using advanced tools such as terrain sculpting, particle creation, and dynamic lighting. Learn how to import pre-set 3D models, control dynamic lighting, add interactive vehicles and weapons. The software utilized is rated T for shooting and animated robot violence. Learn how to use the same tools video game developers are using today!
