Metropolitan School of the Arts mini camps are half day camps designed exclusively for the youngest budding dancers, actors and singers. These multi-aged camps are great to enjoy with friends and siblings too! Each day, children will participate in fun and educational activities including dancing, singing, craft making, story time and more! Surprise visitors, costumes and themed activities will be sure to create a magical summer experience.

THE MAGIC OF FROZEN

MSA presents the tale of two princesses, Elsa and Anna, on their quest for true love!  Join us as we walk the footsteps of fearless optimist, Anna, as she sets off on an epic journey to find her sister, Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Mystic trolls, a snowman named Olaf, and Sven the reindeer will help us save the kingdom from the never-ending blizzard.  Sing along, dance along, and enjoy the tale of Frozen in this magical camp.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Be our guest as we follow Belle into the enchanted castle and enjoy a banquet of song and dance with Lumiere, Cogsworth, and the other castle residents.  We will dance in the ballroom, be treated to story time in Belle’s favorite place, the library, and learn how Belle is able to look beyond the Beast’s exterior to recognize the true heart and soul of the Prince.

ELENA OF AVALOR

Join us in the magical kingdom of Avalor, where the Crown Princess Elena is learning to be a great leader who is thoughtful, compassionate, and resilient.  With the support of the magical flying jaquins and the Grand Council, we will help Elena navigate the challenges she faces as a new ruler.  With scepters in our hands, songs in our hearts, and the spirit of Avalor, there is nothing we can’t accomplish.

BROADWAY BABIES

In this introduction to musical theater, we will explore storytelling through song and dance with selections from Aladdin, Annie, Mary Poppins, The Music Man, and The Sound of Music.  Each day we will be transported musically to a different place and time that our young actors will bring to life by singing, dancing, and creating costume pieces and props.  Watch out! The next generation of stars is in the making,

ALOHA MOANA

Travel with us to the South Pacific and delve into Polynesian music and mythology.  We will accompany Moana as she sets sail to restore the heart of the island goddess Te Fiti.  Singing and dancing with Moana and the demigod Maui, we will help her find the strength to persevere and complete her quest.  “We Know the Way” to captivate early childhood students, and we will be saying “You’re Welcome” to the parents of delighted campers.

SOFIA THE FIRST 

Put your dancing shoes on and get ready to waltz like royalty!  Our littlest campers will experience the enchanted world of Sofia the First through tons of fun activities, including creating a magical amulet, learning to dance the waltz, and preparing for a royal tea party.  Princess etiquette lessons will cover all the basics of being a princess including kindness, manners, and having a loving heart.  With Cedric, Clover, and all of Sophia’s friends, we will have a ball!

THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DR. SEUSS

Oh the things you can think when you think about Seuss! Join the Cat in the Hat as we explore the Tony Award winning musical, Seussical. Learn the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community in a triumphant story!  Campers will dance and sing to excerpts from the musical, enjoy daily story time, and create art projects that represent the prominent characters.  This camp is a great way to connect literature and the performing arts!

SIMBA’S DANCE SAFARI

The Lion King will guide us through the Pride Lands, where we will explore the animal kingdom.  Featuring music from the movie and the Broadway musical, we will encourage campers to use dance to communicate the essence of the different animals in Simba’s world:  the graceful giraffes, the thundering wildebeests, the sneering hyenas, and the gentle duo of meerkat and warthog. This is the perfect camp for lovers of animals and music, and, of course, all of those who “Just Can’t Wait To Be King.”

3-2-1 BLASTOFF

Are you crazy about aliens, spaceships, and traveling beyond the stars?  We’re making STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) accessible to our youngest students.  Join us in a week-long song and dance adventure through space as we explore the concepts of planets, astronauts, solar systems, and more!  We’ll spend our week propelling spaceships with balloons, painting glow-in-the-dark stars, and creating our very own planets.  Houston, there is absolutely no problem with the fun and learning that this camp provides!

UNDER THE SEA

End your summer with a splash!  Follow Ariel deep into the ocean and sing and dance to your heart’s content.  We would never let Ursula steal the voice of one of our campers.  We will cruise aboard Prince Eric’s ship, play calypso music with Sebastian, and find a way to become “Part of Your World.”  Help us close our summer camp season with an epic beach party for merfolk and humans alike!

• 9am - 12pm or 1pm - 4pm (depending on specific camp selected)
• Before and after care is available for an additional fee, payable directly to the vendor.
