Camp descriptions:
Dollars & Sense (Ages 5-9)
Praised in leading business publications as pioneering, this innovative camp provides a solid foundation on financial literacy for kids. Games and hands-on activities help campers internalize key concepts, like budgeting and entrepreneurship, in a fun and supportive environment fostering teamwork. This unique experience empowers campers with the mindset to start making sound financial decisions and develop into responsible global citizens. Every camper gets a piggy bank to encourage saving!
Future Millionaires Bootcamp (Ages 10-13 and Ages 14-17)
Invest in your future with SPARK's five levers of success: personal finance, investments, entrepreneurship, leadership and innovation. Praised in leading business publications as pioneering, this unique experience includes simulations and hands-on activities to empower campers with essential 21st-century skills and the mindset to make sound financial decisions and develop business savvy.
My First Lemonade Stand (Ages 5-9)
Let's sell lemonade! Young campers become "lemonade entrepreneurs" and learn how to make yummy lemonade and earn money selling it! Fun hands-on activities empower campers with an entrepreneurial mindset for their lemonade stand in a nurturing environment fostering teamwork. Campers have fun all week designing marketing flyers, estimating profits, experimenting with recipes and discussing philanthropy. The camp culminates with the launch of the lemonade stand on the last day of camp to raise money for charity!
Sports Management (Ages 10-13 and Ages 14-17)
For the sports lover, future team General Manager (GM), sports team owner or ESPN analyst, this unique program will take you to the intersection of sports and business! Campers learn the business side of various sports and actively discuss and analyze different “sports money” topics, including professional sports, college sports, endorsements, Nike vs Under Armour, sports agents, e-sports, player contracts and more.
Aspiring Fashionistas (Ages 10-13)
In this “glam” camp for boys and girls, students gain knowledge of the fashion industry and develop skills in fashion design, fashion marketing, fashion journalism and branding. Campers explore popular brands, design various articles of clothing (sneakers, winter coats, t-shirts, shorts, dresses, accessories, etc.), define their own brand, outline a merchandise layout for their favorite store, launch a fashion blog and more!
Budding Entrepreneurs (Ages 14-17)
If you love "Shark Tank," this empowering camp is for you! Join other intrepid campers and develop a business plan for your own business idea (or we can suggest one!). You will learn to take risks and persevere while making "business-like" decisions about strategy, marketing and finance. Campers build confidence "learning by doing" throughout the week and make their "pitch" presentations on the last day of camp!
Young Diplomats (Ages 5-9)
In today’s increasingly interconnected world, this camp helps kids develop a global mindset and build international awareness early in life. Campers learn about cultural differences across countries (e.g., food, clothes, traditions, languages), play geography games, examine foreign currencies and learn the role of international institutions, such as the UN and The World Bank. Students develop their public speaking skills, as they discuss important global issues, like poverty or the environment.
“Thank you! This is just so amazing. Speaking of investments, I can honestly say that this has been the best-value camp my son has ever participated in. We were extremely impressed by the high quality of the material presented, the application of real-world examples, and the way that the camps presented such complex material in a fun way.” - Patricia
"SPARK business academy is run with passion and enthusiasm. Basic money skills are hard to discuss with your children. Budgets, credit cards, credit scores and taxes are now subjects that are easier to discuss with my son. The stock market classes should lead to most students becoming investors at an earlier age than many of their peers. Students gain valuable information and life skills and, for some, this experience will provide the “spark” that leads to a successful career in business." -  Paul
