Deal Details

Introduce your child to ballet at one of the Washington area's finest dance schools, Berrend Dance Centre in Gaithersburg, MD.
 
Choose from one of the following 12-week class options:
 
Tiny Dancers - (3 yo) A fun class for three-year-old children without parent participation. This 45 minute class consists of movement activities meant to stimulate coordination skills, listening skills, balance, and rhythm through imagination and the utilization of colorful props. 
 
Music & Motion - (4 yo) This structured program is designed for the early development of technical ballet and movement. It provides a carefully paced sequence of exercises to develop physical conditioning with poise and grace.
 
Preparation for Ballet 1 - (5 yo) This class for the young dancer focuses on coordination, balance, rhythm, flexibility, and basic kinetic skills, as well as creative expression through dance. 
 
Preparation for Ballet 2 - (6 yo) This class introduces basic classical movements while building strength, rhythmic skills, and discipline. Ballet vocabulary and technique are taught through barre and center floor work, including movements across the floor.
 
Preparation for Ballet 3 - (7 yo) This class ensures the student’s understanding of the fundamental movement methods. The students will begin to learn steps in the 5th position and advance according to individual progress in obtaining technique, strength, and flexibility.

  • Music & Motion, Prep Ballet 1 - 3 operate on an ongoing basis and can start anytime.

  • Must wear ballet shoes, leotard and tights.
  • Once started, classes are consecutive.
