Deal Details

Young Artists of America® (YAA) trains young performing artists in collaboration with leading, professional artists to present fully-orchestrated productions at state-of-the-art venues like their home stage at the Music Center at Strathmore. YAA productions have won numerous awards, including a Regional Emmy and is the premier performing arts training organization in the region, preparing students to take the stage. 
 
The Kids Academy is the Young Artists of America daytime musical theatre intensive for students looking for an exploration of the skills involved in the world of musical theatre. Classes are open to rising 4th & 5th graders who want to learn more about theatre, make new friends and have fun! 
 
Students will spend their 5 days in classes studying Acting, Dance, and Voice culminating in a showcase of the skills learned throughout the week.
 
Classes may include:
 
Musical Theatre
  • Acting — improvisation, character study, acting games
  • Dance — musical theatre dance techniques
  • Voice — group voice lessons, interpretation, singing games
 
Class sizes will remain small (8-10 students per class) to ensure personalized attention between teacher and students.
 
When not in class or rehearsing for the production, Academy students will have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular recreational activities outdoors.
