And with our nation's capital only an hour drive away, this is also the perfect time to make a trip with the kids to the war memorials, a great way to teach them about honoring those who fought for our country.

Memorial Day Weekend Cruises aboard the Spirit of Baltimore
Celebrate Memorial Day weekend aboard the Spirit of Baltimore for a Memorial Day Cruise around the Inner Harbor. Spend Memorial Day at an Orioles Baseball Game
Take your family out to the ball game at Camden Yards and watch the Baltimore Orioles take on the Detroit Tigers on May 27th at 1:05 p.m. Fans 21 and over (replace "and in" with "who are among") and in the first 20,000 to enter the stadium will be eligible to receive the Orioles' promotional for the night, a set of two outdoor pint glasses presented by Sam Adams. Baseball games are perfect for all ages and Camden Yards always brings out extra fun activities for families.

Memorial Day Ceremony at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium, Maryland
Attend the Memorial Day Ceremony at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens on May 27th at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be held at the Circle of Immortals section of the Field of Honor and will take place rain or shine. This is a traditional, patriotic gathering to honor all Marylanders who have paid the highest price in defense of our nation. The keynote speaker will be Major General Linda L. Singh, The Adjutant General, Maryland and there will be music by the 229th Army Band, Maryland Army National Guard; Maryland Sings, Director Bill Myers, and singer and songwriter Jon Wikstrom. This is a great patriotic event for the whole family and to teach your kids about why we celebrate Memorial Day.

Brew at the Zoo at the Maryland Zoo
Help support the Maryland Zoo at their biggest fundraiser of the year, Brew at the Zoo. The fun begins Memorial Day weekend, May 25th & May 26th from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. Enjoy one of Baltimore's biggest beer festivals while also spending time with the animals. There will be unlimited beer sampling of more than 80 brews, local artisan vendors and live performances from Ballyhoo!, Matt Hutchinson, Kelly Bell Band and more! Tickets to this event include all-day admission to the zoo (10 a.m. -6 p.m.) and children under 2 are admitted free to the event and do not require a ticket.

The Sowebo Arts and Music Festival, Hollins Market, Baltimore - FREE
The 36th Annual Sowebo Arts and Music Festival will take place on Sunday, May 26th at Hollins Market from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The heart of this event is to bring together local music, artists and entertainers, as well as great food to create a fun event for the community and for all ages. This will be an event you will not want to miss with The City Paper declaring it the Best Festival in Baltimore many years in a row.
NEW Temporary Exhibit: First to Fight at the B&O Railroad Museum
Visit the new temporary exhibit First to Fight at the B&O Railroad Museum on May 27th from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. This Memorial Day exhibit is a World War I exhibit highlighting the contributions of railroaders at home and abroad. The first American units deployed in France were army railroad regiments, a story that is told through the detailed scale model of the 1917 Battle of Cambrai. Your family will get to see the importance of Memorial Day firsthand with this patriotic exhibit.

USS Constellation at Historic Ships, Baltimore Inner Harbor

The USS Constellation's Ship's Company of volunteer sailors and marines come aboard to provide a unique view of service at the sea. This kid-friendly event will show the daily routines of life aboard the USS Constellation and focus on day-to-day shipboard life in Mr. Lincoln’s Navy.
