American Girl is Opening an Outlet Store {and We Can't Even!}

Just For Fun

As if "The Sweetest Place on Earth" couldn't get any sweeter, American Girl recently announced they will open an outlet store at the Tanger Outlets in Hershey, Pennsylvania! Squee! The news first broke rather quietly through local news media back in June and was confirmed on American Girl's Facebook page at the end of July.

Not only will the new Hershey location be American Girl's only outlet store in the country (their previous outlet in Oshkosh, Wisconsin closed in 2016), it will also be the Keystone State's first ever American Girl store. This is great news for Pennsylvania AG fans who previously had to travel to New York City or the DC suburbs for the closest AG awesomeness.

The new 2,200-square-foot Hershey store opens this Saturday, August 11th in Suite 142, next to Vera Bradley. The store is anticipated to carry overstock merchandise and discontinued dolls, as well as clothing and accessories. Ear piercing and hair styling will not be available.

A grand opening event is scheduled for Saturday, August 11th from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, August 12th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Children in attendance will receive a free gift while supplies last, and will also be able to enter for a chance to win an American Girl doll and book.

Due to the anticipated high volume of visitors, tickets will be required to enter the store during grand opening weekend. Head to the ticket-distribution table at the end of the walkway by Tommy Hilfiger as soon as you arrive to get your tickets. Ticket distribution begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday. Only one member of your family needs to stand in line for tickets, but everyone who wants to enter the store requires a ticket (including children in strollers). Visit the American Girl website for more information.

Hershey is a great location for this new outlet store, allowing out-of-town visitors to plan a visit around a trip to an area that already has so many exciting things to offer. Nearby attractions include Hersheypark, Hershey's Chocolate World, Dutch Wonderland, and historic Lancaster County, the site of America's oldest Amish settlement.
