Visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture - No Passes Required!
Big News! The NMAAHC recently announced changes to their visitation guidelines, which makes visiting SO MUCH EASIER. Beginning this month, walk-up entry is now available Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. during off-peak season, September - February, and from 1 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. the rest of the year. The National Building Museum is hosting two very cool Family Afternoons this month, Capturing Light with Lanterns on Saturday, January 5th where families can construct and decorate paper lanterns, and Capturing Light With Stained Glass on January 12th where families can create acrylic "stained glass" to take home. Car Family Day at the Smithsonian American Art Museum- FREE [canceled due to the government shutdown] 
Vroom! Vroom!  On Saturday, January 12th, it's all about CARS at the SAAM! Cruise on over to the intersection of automobiles and art. Kids will get to make their own cardboard cars, create art with tire treads and join in on a scavenger hunt around the Museum. Don't forget to check out the Museum's model car collection, too! Commemorate the Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 21st

Science Saturday at the National Law Enforcement Museum
Experience a fun-filled afternoon of science activities in the Museum's Learning Center on Saturday, January 26th from 1 - 3 p.m. This month’s theme is Bomb Squad Science and they will be exploring the science of robotics, and more! Winter Blast: A Family Weekend of Native Games at the American Indian Museum - FREE
Join the National Museum of the American Indian on January 26th for this very special family-friendly event celebrating indigenous traditional games from the Arctic to Argentina! Featured events include presentations from athletes from the World Eskimo-Indian Olympics, who will be demonstrating a wide variety of games, including the seal hop, ear pull, one-foot high kick, two-foot high kick, one-hand reach, Indian stick pull, and more; Hawaiian games; Alaska Native Game demonstrations; film screenings and more. Guests can also learn to make beaded daisy chains in the imagiNATIONS Activity Center (free, timed tickets required).
