2019 Summer Camps - Ashburn & Herndon, VA

June 10th - 14th: Art Makers Lab
Our ART maker lab is great for students who love to be creative. Students will create hands-on art but with a twist of science or robotics. Let's unleash the artist in you!

June 17th - 21st: Extreme Engineering
Design - Build - Test - Repeat! Join us for a week of EXTREME Engineering challenges! Campers will learn the basics of the Engineering Design Process as they build all sorts of crazy contraptions, and compete in a series of Bridge-Building Competitions throughout the week!

June 24th- 28th: Safari Camp Robotics
Learn about animal species from around the world, including: a gorilla, a giraffe, and a turtle and try to understand their mannerism. Using programming skills, campers build a robot that resembles their appearance and mimics them by writing code so that the robot accurately imitates their behavior.

July 1 - July 5: Codemakers Camp (no camp July 4th)
Aspiring coders dive into creating animated stories and interactive experiences while learning essential programming concepts with Scratch. This drag-and-drop, creative environment developed by MIT uses sprites and code blocks to set a foundation of computational thinking—an essential skill in this tech-driven world—enhanced by bright visuals and engaging design.

July 8 - July 12: Circuit Makers Lab
If your child likes to "tinker" this is the camp for them! A week - long camp of tinkering & doing. Hands on project with Electrical Engineering. This introductory circuit course will have your child experimenting with how circuits work using our hands-on project from building a torch light to Clay Circuits and cool projects with Makey Makey.

July 15 - July 19: Citycamp Robotics
Campers will build & program various city construction from making a crane to a Mine railway. Students will learn about the construction process and the development of cities in the context of modern skyscrapers and their function.

July 22 - July 26: Hands On Science
Experiment and discover the the beauty of scientific reactions right before your very eyes! This super fun class gives students the chance to learn through trial & error where they'll investigate scientific questions while gaining critical Life Skills. Observe & look, investigate, communicate, research and don’t be afraid to ask questions during this exciting camp!

July 29 - August 2: Minecraft Coding
Spending hours a day on Minecraft? Up your Minecraft game with the basics of coding using Java Programming to create a Minecraft Forge mod. A “mod” (short for “modification”) is a kind of plugin that can add all new game content to Minecraft. It's Game On!

August 5 - August 9: Drone Aviation
Ready, Set, Drone! Take to the skies with mini drones! A thrilling, hands-on aerial robotics platform, our weekly camp is the perfect introduction to the world of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In this indoor camp, safety is a priority as students learn to fly in first-person view (FPV), exploring the real-world applications of drones.

August 12 - August 16: Camp CSI
Learn about forensic science and become a SciGenius detective! In this super cool camp, campers will learn about investigative techniques and use chemistry, molecular biology and physics to explore mysteries throughout the week. Campers will carry out experiments in ink chromatography, fingerprint analysis, DNA extraction, and more.

August 19 - August 23: Mission Moon Robotics
Moon walk your way into this exciting camp for budding astronomers! Building and programming futuristic robots is a great way to introduce physics and astronomy. To further boost the imagination of our young inventors, some of the robots were even modeled after science-fiction spacecrafts like the NASA space shuttle, Droids and many more.
