Real Mom Review: South Germantown SplashPark and Mini Golf

Real Mom Reviews Things to Do DC/MD/VA

We enjoyed a fun afternoon at South Germantown SplashPark and Mini-Golf! We packed a lunch, swim suits, and towels and we were all set! Some water toys or a ball to play with in the water added to the fun. I think kids ages 2-8 would have the most fun at the splash zone, jumping pad and mini-golf for a long afternoon.

The mini-golf is a very simple 18 hole course with green putting areas. It did not hold my kids' attention to finish the course, but it was fun for a little family competition.

Next, we headed over to the splash pad. At first we sat our bag down on the Adirondack chairs, but when a table opened up we were grateful to have an umbrella! There are about ten tables with umbrellas and several more under a tent. The kids enjoyed the splash pad, which includes a waterfall feature, two water play areas, and a small slide.

After playing for a bit, we tried out the jump pad. It's a large area and the life guards on duty did a great job making sure kids were dry before jumping so they didn't get hurt. I would recommend bringing socks for the jump pad.

I noticed several families utilizing the outside showers and adjacent changing areas. There are restrooms accessible directly within the splash pad area as well. When the kids wanted a treat, there were a few options. There are four vending machines with ice cream, soda, water, snacks and candy.

On our way out we noticed a playground that would be fun on our next visit! All of this fun is only 5 minutes down the road from Seneca Creek State Park campground. It would certainly be a fun thing to do if you were staying there!

The park ended up closing for an hour due to thunder and an impending storm, so we cut our trip short, but we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and would go back if we were going to be in the area.
