Spring is in the air! Birds are chirping, blossoms are blooming, we've conquered the shift to daylight savings time, and the cold chill of winter will soon be a distant memory (fingers crossed!). There's no better way to celebrate spring's arrival than by getting outside with the kiddos. We've rounded up our top picks for Easter egg hunts and spring festivities in the Baltimore area that will get your family outside having fun together this spring. Happy hunting!

Natural Egg Dyes, Willow Grove Nature Center, Parkville, MD
Learn to make your own natural egg dyes at Willow Grove Nature Center's Natural Dyes workshop. Long before commercial dyes, color enhancing hues were derived from animals, minerals and plants found in nature. Bring a dozen hard-boiled eggs on April 6th from 1 - 3 p.m. to dye the natural way. For ages 5 and up.

Fresh McKenzie Farm Easter Egg Hunts, Baldwin, MD
Enjoy a fun family day at Fresh McKenzie Farm. They are offering up several unique Easter egg hunt options this year, including Bonfire Night Hunts on April 12th and 19th at 7:30 p.m., Day Hunts on April 13th and 20th at 11 a.m. and even a Helicopter Egg Drop on April 14th at 2 p.m. (must be on location by 1 p.m.)!

Center Plaza, The Littlest Egg Hunt, Baltimore - FREE
Celebrate spring in downtown Baltimore at The Littlest Egg Hunt featuring the Leesburg Animal Petting Zoo, free face painting, moonbounce, arts and crafts, snacks for the kids, a Pixelated Photo Booth with the Easter Bunny and games on the lawn, such as hula hoops, Connect Four and Jenga. The Egg Hunt is for ages 2-5 on April 13th from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., registration is required. A bag will be provided for collecting eggs. Older siblings are welcome to participate in the other fun activities at the spring fair.

Raven's Roost #54 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Riverside Park, Baltimore - FREE
Ready, set, go! The Raven's Roost #54's 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt features 10,000 hidden eggs, plus a lucky golden egg in each age category (walking to 12 years old). The kids can visit with the Easter Bunny for a photo, get a temporary tattoo and enjoy a hot dog, chips and a drink. The event is on April 13th from 1 - 3 p.m.

Raven's Roost #54 Annual Egg Hunt, Riverside Park, Baltimore

Belair Edison 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza at Herring Run Park, Baltimore - FREE
Nestled in Herring Run Park at the playground at the corner of Roberton Avenue and Parkside Drive, the 2nd Annual Belair Edison Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza will take place on April 13th from 12 - 3 p.m. Get ready for the fun with an egg hunt, face painting, arts and crafts, games, music and food.

Flashlight Egg Hunt at Lake Roland, Baltimore
The challenge is on! Search for eggs in the dark using night vision and flashlights at Lake Roland's Flashlight Egg Hunt. On April 13th starting at 7:30 p.m. ages 5-12 will begin a night hunt for holiday goodies (rain date, April 14th). For ages 10 to adult, register for the expert-level hunt that begins promptly at 8:10 p.m. Advance registration is required, email [email protected].

Cromwell Valley Park Easter Egg Hunt, Parkville, MD
Enjoy a fun spring day at Cromwell Valley Park's Easter Egg Hunt with egg hunts on the lawn, an appearance from the Easter Bunny, crafts at the Sherwood House and egg decorating. The fun takes place on April 13th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. with egg hunt times broken down throughout the day by age groups, starting at 10:30 a.m.

Cromwell Valley Park Easter Egg Hunt, Parkville, MD

Mary Sue Candies' Bunny BonanZoo, Maryland Zoo, Baltimore
An annual family tradition, Mary Sue Candies' Bunny BonanZoo is an exciting fun-filled event featuring games, non-stop egg hunts, activities, crafts, live entertainment from Pam the Kindersinger and the Zoo's puppet theater, animal enrichment programs and more. The weekend-long event takes place April 19th-21st from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and is free with zoo admission.

Pasquetta! The Baltimore Easter Egg Roll, Evesham Park, Baltimore
Hosted by the Italian Cultural Center, the 5th Annual Pasquetta, Baltimore Easter Egg Roll is a fun-filled afternoon with an egg roll, egg in spoon race, wheelbarrow relay race and more. Join in on the festivities on April 20th starting at noon.

Celebrate spring at the farm with Hawk's Hill Creamery 11th Annual Egg Hunt featuring a visit with the Easter Bunny, face painting, live music, petting zoo and game area. Food trucks from CrossRoads Bistro and Smithson Pit Meats will be on site serving up eats, and Falling Branch Brewery will have an open taproom.
