Celebrate National Ice Cream Day With Freebies and Deals From Baskin-Robbins, Carvel, Cold Stone and More!By Kim Humphrey
Posted Jul 15, 2020
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream, especially FREE ICE CREAM! Thanks to President Ronald Reagan's proclamation in 1984, Sunday, July 19 is officially National Ice Cream Day, and many of your fave cold treat brands and retailers are celebrating with sweet deals and cool freebies.
Here are some fun facts about the world's favorite frozen treat you may not know:
- Vanilla is America's most popular ice cream flavor, followed by chocolate. But chocolate ice cream was invented before vanilla!
- The average American consumes 48 pints of ice cream every year! Whoa.
- California produces the most ice cream in America.
- The waffle cone was invented by accident when an ice cream vendor ran out of cones at the World's Fair in St. Louis, Missouri in 1904. He turned to a nearby waffle vendor for help, and the waffle cone was officially born!
Now, on to the freebies!
