Jamie: Oh my goodness....what a workout! Today I took my first class at [solidcore] in Wildwood. I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I do yoga and run and that is it. I really had no idea what [solidcore] was about.
I arrived 15 minutes early since it was my first time and they ask you come early to show you the ropes before people arrived. I walked in and was greeted with a big smile from the instructor. I put my belongings in some bins and took my shoes and socks off.
The instructor took me to a large mirrored room filled with these crazy contraptions. What had a I gotten myself into? However, I was totally getting excited as the music was loud and I felt myself getting pumped up. She put on her microphone so I could hear her over the music.
She showed me all the ways we would be using the machines. It was a bit complicated but she kept saying, "Just watch your neighbors and you will get it!" As she finished up, a bunch of women piled in. They were super friendly and told me I was in for an experience. One girl told me she had been going four days a week but was now toning it down to one day a week as she had reached her goal and just wanted to maintain. Another woman told me that a lot of athletes do this because it gets you so strong.
It was now time to begin. Everyone went to the top of the machine and, before I knew it, I was following along completely. We were doing a lot of planks moving back and forth on the machine. I could feel my abs getting so sore and using all these muscles I never use. We then focused on some exercises for our legs and then biceps. It was so unique because the movements were very slow but repetitive. Eventually, I found my muscles almost shaking and quivering! It seemed like it was going to be easy but then it was super hard.
Before I knew it, the class was over. I have NEVER taken a 50-minute class that flew as fast as this one. I was not sweating at all but my legs were still shaking!
It has been a couple hours and I already feel sore. I am scared to see how I feel tomorrow. I am going to push myself to buy the CertifiKID deal and take five more classes as I know this would be a great complement to my running and yoga to make me stronger!
