Real Mom Review: Fun Galaxy Indoor Playground in Queens, New York

Fun Galaxy is a brand new indoor playground in Elmhurst, Queens that offers loads of active fun for kids ages 1-12, including slides, ball pits, play toys, climb structures, trampoline, and their centerpiece - a kid-friendly UFO machine! 

Our CertifiKID NYC Family Fun Ambassador, Diana, visited Fun Galaxy with her son. They received free admission in exchange for providing an honest review of their experience.

Diana: They have toys and features for crawlers to jumpers. The little ones have ride-ons, bouncers and rockers just for their size. They will have fun with the wall toys and in the wooden chip pit with all of the sand type of toys. My son didn’t want to get out of it.

There’s a soft play climbing structure and slide with a bigger wall toy for kids of all ages. You place the balls inside and it sucks it up, dispersing it in an array of different directions. Each time is a new experience.

The kids will love jumping inside of the trampoline and racing their friends down a triple slide into a brightly, pastel colored ball pit. They can climb through the tunnel in the indoor playground and up through the nets or climb the steps if a bit smaller. Inside of the ball pit is a screen with games, where you must throw the balls to knock out the features on the screen. You can play solo or with a friend.

They offer private parties with a carpeted basement and large party rooms. They decorate it lovely and to a theme. There are some toys and games down there as well, like a mini pool table and an oversize Connect 4, along with a kitchen set.

Upstairs, there are a few kitchen sets with pans that light up and make noise when placed on the burner, a toy popcorn machine that pops, and a blender that blends. There is enough food and cookware to go around for all the little chefs.

If you need a last minute birthday gift for the party girl/boy, they’ve got you covered with everything from Disney, Disney Jr., Pokémon, PJ Masks and more.

If you get thirsty, they offer cold refreshments in their fridge for purchase and also snacks the kids will love.

Getting There and Getting In

The location was easy to locate using my GPS.  We found parking right in front of the place. There wasn’t any meter so it was free. There were a few other spots close by, so you can definitely find parking. 

There are a few trains at the Grand Ave. - Newton station, about 6 blocks away and a bus that runs down the block. 

What Did You Enjoy Most?

I enjoyed the fact that my son played by himself as well as with his father and me. We played as a family but he was also independent.

Is There Anything That Could be Improved?

I loved everything about the place. They even gave us a tour of the party room on the lower level which was really nice of them.

Recommended Age Range

My son is 8 and he loved it. I would say Fun Galaxy is good for tots to about 12.  

Time Recommended to Enjoy Experience

We stayed a couple of hours and I had to pull my son out because it was getting close to dinner time but had I stayed, I would say he would’ve asked to leave after about 3 hours.

Food and Drinks

They sell snacks and cold beverages like water, soda and juice boxes.

Tips for Families

Make sure you bring your socks, as you must wear them inside. If you forget socks, they sell them. If you bring a stroller, there is room to park it.   

We love that it is so close to Queens Center Mall. The Cheesecake Factory, my son’s favorite place to eat, is located inside of the mall, so that’s always a plus to visit after we go to Fun Galaxy. There’s also the LEGO Shop inside the mall which makes for a great time.

Would You Visit Again?

We would definitely visit again. My son has been asking to go back.
