Life is a lot out of whack right now. We're bored. We're lonely. We're sad. We miss our normal routine and visiting the places we love. Build-A-Bear Workshop gets it and wants to help provide comfort during these stressful times.
"We firmly believe in the importance of the comfort and security that furry friends can provide during stressful times, especially for children, and we are committed to our mission to 'add a little more heart to life' during these unprecedented times," said Build-A-Bear President & CEO, Sharon Price John in a press release.
While its stores are closed, Build-A-Bear has launched a brand new program designed to entertain, inspire and connect kids and families while at home. WORKSHOP WEDNESDAYS provides a variety of new, fun, free activities each week for the whole family, including easy-to-make snack recipes, DIY craft ideas, story time, and games.
The first two installments of Workshop Wednesdays included fun projects like making friendship bracelets, bear origami and paper dolls, a science lesson in how to make color-changing and invisible slime, a how-to guide on starting a teddy bear hunt in your neighborhood, and more.
For those kiddos who are really sad to be missing out visiting their local Build-A-Bear Workshop, there is even an online Bear Builder that replicates the in-store experience by allowing guests to pick a new furry friend, add scents and sounds, dress them, and make a special wish on the heart.
Be sure to check the Workshop Wednesdays page every week for more family fun!
