Like its name states, Fun Spot America Atlanta aims to be the main source of fun for kids and adults in America. Founder John Arie, Sr., whose passion for the entertainment park industry dates all the way back to 1969, employs a "safe-clean-fun" mission by developing thrilling rides and exciting attractions that are up-to-date on the latest safety features and well-maintained. Here's a snapshot of some of those "safe-clean-fun" attractions: Go-Karts: Double up or ride solo on three different tracks that include hairpin turns and curvy bends Banana Squadron: Little ones take to the air in banana planes that fly in a circle and soar up and down Drop Zone: Take a seat in the front or the back and plummet 44 feet at a thrilling pace
Funtime Bowl has been entertaining family and friends since 1958. With 24 lanes—featuring bumper and cosmic bowling throughout the week—and a small arcade, it's easy to see why Funtime has been a local favorite for so long. To fuel gatherings, the onsite concession stand cooks up tasty comfort foods, but is perhaps best known for its Mega Pitcher, a massive 200-ounce pitcher of frosty beer.
The 18-hole par 3 course at Peachtree Golf Center removes one major hardship of the game that often keeps beginners away: length. Instead of extremely long holes that require experience with celestial navigation, the holes are kept short so beginners can gain confidence and more seasoned players can work on their short game. Still, skilled players shouldn't become overly confident on the relatively short and flat layout, as five ponds lurk around the course and two holes run alongside the banks of the Chattahoochee River. At dusk, the overhead flood lights flicker on to let rounds continue unabated, but groups who tee off in the early- to mid-afternoon may never need them as full rounds rarely take longer than 2.5 hours.
Water features lace throughout miniature-golf courses, gurgling cheerfully as putters attempt to elude windmill blades and wacky hazards. These carefully designed courses populate numerous national locations, running parallel to roaring go-kart tracks. Inside arcade rooms, video games chirp in response to players' shouts of victory or defeat. Pro birthday package for up to eight guests One hour of table time with a party host Three rides tickets for each child One round of mini golf for each child Two slices of cheese or pepperoni pizza for each child Unlimited soft drinks during table time 10 tokens per child Special gift for the birthday child Balloons, paper products, and personalized signs Print-at-home invitations
A 5-year-old and a 12-year-old may have different ideas of paradise—but Kid's Paradise is bound to please them both. Younger kids can roam free in a 10-and-under kingdom filled with colorful slides, moon bounces, ball pits, and mazes filled with safe, padded obstacles. For older siblings, an arcade zone hosts everything from classic arcade-style racing games and a ticket counter with a variety of prizes. There's also a full Ninja Obstacles Course with 12 obstacles including a warped wall. Of course, Kid's Paradise hasn't forgotten parents: they make the task of monitoring kids a breeze thanks to generous sight lines to the play area, a fully trained staff to help with supervision, and a lounge with plenty of refreshments and free Wi-Fi.
Georgia has learned a lot about the universe since 1967. It was then that the Fernbank Science Center opened, offering up its outdoor gardens and indoor facilities as giant interactive textbooks for school children and the public alike. And to educate as many as possible, the center keeps general admission to its regular exhibits totally free. Eye Catchers: the stars that come into view through the Dr. Ralph L.
