Certifikid was the first of its kind daily deal website geared to families to launch nationally and is a household name in the Washington-Baltimore region. Certifikid recently launched in Pittsburgh and will be in Philadelphia, Delaware, and Hampton Roads, VA in the weeks ahead, with more cities to follow. 

Certifikid was formed by a DC-area family to offer all that local families want and need at majorly reduced prices. Certifikid was Founder Jamie Ratner's idea after years of being an expert deal finder and writing a successful Washington area blog geared to parents and particularly moms who are looking for a good deal and new things to try locally. The blog had scores of daily readers who trusted Jamie's advice on local events, restaurants, products, and services. The reason they trusted Jamie is because she is just like them - a working mother of 2 trying to balance it all, provide for her kids, get an occasional evening alone with her husband, and always looking for a good bargain. Jamie believed that there was a local void that Certifikid could fill for the benefit of her readers and other parents and parents-to-be (ok, and her too).

And indeed it has - tens of thousands of local families have benefited from Certifikid's great values and Certifikid's participating businesses - most who request to be featured again - are thrilled for the new customers and exposure. Certifikid has also been featured by several media outlets and publications, including the The Washington Post, The Washington Business Journal, CNBC, NBC4 News, Fox5 News, WUSA 9 News, The Gazette, and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Now the business community has taken notice - our Founder, CEO, and fearless leader, Jamie Ratner, was recently named one of the region's Top 40 Under 40 "Brightest Young Business Leaders" of 2011 by the Washington Business Journal.

Our goal for Certifikid remains the same since we started this business at our kitchen table. We never wanted Certifikid to simply be a gateway between local businesses and our subscribers to make a single business transaction.
