What about the food, you ask?  As Gigi from Bluebird Dinners has learned more about food since her children were small, she has become convinced that as much as possible, it’s better to eat whole, not processed food.  She also believes that there are real advantages to us to eat organic, and sustainably/humanely raised food (not to mention better for the animals!).  And she believes in supporting local growers whenever possible.  So Bluebird has incorporated this approach into their dinners.  All of the meat and produce are organic or all-natural.  And whenever possible, it’s also local.  Everything you get is whole food — nothing processed or artificially preserved.   So you can feel great about eating Bluebird Dinners and great about serving them to your family!

Information & Restrictions

  • Delivery available to Montgomery County, Howard County and Washington DC
  • Monday and Tuesday meals will be delivered on Monday afternoon; Wednesday through Friday meals are delivered on Wednesday afternoon.  
  • You do not need to be home to receive these at the time of delivery; Bluebird Dinners will leave unattended deliveries in blue Igloo coolers with ice packs to assure your food stays fresh.
  • May purchase up to 2 per household.
  • Each meal is designed to serve one person, but they are generous portions.  Depending on your appetite you may have leftovers, maybe even enough for lunch the next day.  
  • Bluebird Dinners offer homemade applesauce and homemade healthy macaroni and cheese everyday.  These sides are great to help you stretch your meals to feed more people, e.g., two adults with a child could order two meals plus a side of macaroni and cheese to feed all three.  Even though the sides are kid-friendly, many adults love them!

We publish two weeks of dinner menus on the site, and you simply choose which days you want to order.  If you order a Monday or Tuesday dinner, your order will be delivered fresh, never frozen, on Monday afternoon in a sturdy Igloo cooler.  If you order a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday dinner, your order will be delivered on Wednesday afternoon.  We do have deadlines for placing your order to give us time to shop, chop, and cook.  The Monday-Tuesday deadline is midnight Friday night.  The Wednesday through Friday deadline is Monday at midnight.   On your first order, we will bring your cooler.  And if you re-order from us, we’ll simply swap your cooler with a fresh one.
